By being a family owned independent retirement and tax planning firm, we are privileged to a rare characteristic in the financial industry. This is a characteristic that many talk about but rarely practice, this characteristic is the freedom of choice. As discussed earlier we are not tied or bound by some large corporate office located somewhere other than where it really matters to you, the client. Our corporate office is right here. We are in your back yard. We are your friends and neighbors. Truman & Associates, Incorporated is a group of people hand selected to help our friends, our family, our neighbors; our clients plan for there futures with a common core philosophy.
Webster’s New World dictionary defines the work core as;
- Core: the heart, the most central part of anything, the most important part.
Truman & Associates, Inc. was founded on this concept of the word core. We believe that a core is a statement in life, personal and financial, a statement that is not to be wavered from. As Webster defines it, the heart of our company. Our philosophy is very simple but often overlooked by many individuals and financial professionals. It is our core that we are here for guidance; we are not here to be sales people, leading you to a purchase of a product. We believe that you work hard for your money and any decision affecting your future should be yours, we are only here to offer you a road map to a destination that you determined, not us! Our family firm is set in stone to not get caught up in emotional trend investing that is based on greed. Greed is a force that will collapse a life savings overnight. Greed is not good as Michael Douglas said in the movie Wall Street, greed kills!
Everyone in our firm is guided by the same philosophy that a good financial plan is one that is designed on the clients wants, needs and resources that the client posseses. We know that there is a picture perfect plan that everyone wants. However; we also understand that in most cases there is only so much sand to fill all of life’s buckets. We whole heartedly believe in creating a hierarchy of importance of needs based on the client, not on our bottom line.
Most importantly, our firm stands strong on one belief that ties all of our concepts together. Every person needs a solid, complete financial plan. A plan that involves many advisors, not just our firm. Here at Truman & Associates we leave our egos at the door and get the job done for the client. A solid well thought out plan is one that will jump into action no matter what our environment (internal and external) throws at it. We like to plan for the uncertainty in life. A plan is easy to create for today’s economy and world conditions, they are known constants. It is tomorrow’s uncertainties and inconsistencies that we need to plan for. It is our duty as advisors, not sales people to guide our clients through not only economic booms that are fear free but those times the economy is suffering and people are rightfully fearfull of the future.
